A Brow Lift Is Individualized For Each Patient

As it is with any surgical procedure, a forehead lift is individualized and based on several things. These things include muscle tone, the quality of skin, and bone structure. A plastic surgeon will take all of the factors in to consideration before he or she makes a determination. The surgeon will determine the appropriate procedure or combination of techniques that will be able to create a face that looks more youthful and alert.

For Forehead Lift Surgery Plastic Surgeons Use The Latest Surgery Techniques

Plastic surgeons use the latest in surgery techniques in performing their forehead or Los Angeles and Santa Monica forehead lift and brow-lifting procedures. Forehead lift procedures can reposition and elevate brows that have become droopy and tired, and they can also improve the wrinkles that are between the forehead and the eyes. According to Los Angeles plastic surgeon, Dr. Hoefflin, using the revolutionary advances of endoscopy, several small incisions are placed in inconspicuous locations behind the hairline, thus avoiding any visible facial incisions. During the procedure, the forehead muscles above the eyes are elevated to smooth out excessive forehead lines, raise the eyebrows to a more pleasing level, thus creating a more youthful and balanced appearance.

Browlift Surgery Can Create A More Youthful Look To Your Face

Unfortunately I am aging much faster than I would prefer and it is starting to take a toll on my face, specifically my eyebrows. Over time my eyebrows have sagged to the point that I look angry or upset all the time.

Fortunately I have a friend that taught me about a website called drpecunia.com where I learned about Brow Lift Surgery and how it "minimizes the creases that develop across the forehead, or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose between the eyes; improves what are commonly referred to as frown lines; repositions a low or sagging brow that is hooding the upper eyelid, and raises the eyebrows to a more alert and youthful position."

The plastic surgery information from this website was exactly what I needed to learn to know that this was the perfect way for me to potentially look much younger and I am now very excited to receive this surgery sometime in the near future

Facial Plastic Surgery Santa Monica

Facial rejuvenation surgery ranges in size from "mini" to "standard" depending on location and on the laxity of a recipient's skin. Face lift procedures are performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with sedation, or under general anesthesia. Your surgeon will start by making incisions near the hair line on both sides of the face, starting at the temples, continuing around below the ear, to the lower scalp. He then tightens the muscles and cuts away the excess skin. The exact location of the incisions differs from case to case because each person is unique.

Face lift surgery may be done along with other procedures in order to reach the desired overall effect. Some procedures that augment the result of a face lift include blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), brow lift, chemical peel, dermabrasion (facial sanding), chin enlargement, rhinoplasty (nose job), fat suction, and laser skin resurfacing. Insurance does not generally cover aesthetic surgery, and any surgery carries some aspect of risk, so you want to be well informed. Dr. Steven Teitelbaum can help you choose your facial rejuvenation in Santa Monica, California.

Minimize The Visible Effects Of Aging With Eyelid Surgery

If you're considering a forehead lift, this brochure will provide a basic understanding of the procedure -- when it can help, how it's performed and what results you can expect. It won't answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Be sure to ask your doctor if there is anything you don't understand about the procedure.

A forehead lift is most commonly performed in the 40-60 age range to minimize the visible effects of aging. However, it can also help people of any age who have developed furrows or frown lines due to stress or muscle activity. Individuals with inherited conditions, such as a low, heavy brow or furrowed lines above the nose can achieve a more alert and refreshed look with this procedure.

Forehead lift is often performed in conjunction with a facelift to provide a smoother overall look to the face. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) may also be performed at the same time as a forehead lift, especially if a patient has significant skin overhang in the upper eyelids. Sometimes, patients who believe they need upper-eyelid surgery find that a forehead lift better meets their surgical goals.

Patients who are bald, who have a receding hairline, or who have had previous upper-eyelid surgery may still be good candidates for forehead lift. The surgeon will simply alter the incision location or perform a more conservative operation.

Remember, a forehead lift can enhance your appearance and your self-confidence, but it won't necessarily change your looks to match your ideal or cause other people to treat you differently. Before you decide to have surgery, think carefully about your expectations and discuss them in detail with your doctor.

Correct a Drooping Brow and Restore a More Youthful Look

A brow lift (a.k.a. a forehead lift, upper face lift) is a procedure utilized to correct a drooping brow and to restore a more youthful look. Laughing, crying, smiling and frowning are common facial expressions that involve the use of the forehead. Because your forehead is always moving, this eventually takes its toll on your skin. Together with aging, the result is eventually drooping eyebrows, forehead lines, and those ubiquitous frown lines. A sagging brow crowds the eyes and makes it appear that one is always frowning or angry. Often, a brow lift alone can correct upper eyelid skin excess that cannot be corrected with an eyelid lift alone. Raising the brows and tightening the upper face "opens up" the eyes, restoring a rested, more youthful look. A brow lift can be performed alone, or in conjunction with a face-neck lift and/or blepharoplasty.

A Brow Lift Makes You Look Younger And More Rested

As people age their brow droops, causing an older, tired appearance. By lifting the brow and taking weight off the eyelids, a brow lift makes you look younger and more rested without any facial incisions.

Three types of brow lift are done. Some doctors prefer an endoscopic technique, requiring only three half-inch incisions. Many other surgeons use a coronal procedure, creating a large ear-to-ear incision above the hairline. However, these types of incisions can cause hair loss, numbness and scarring.

For patients with a high hairline, your doctor may use the third type of incision, which is one at the hairline. During your type of surgery your doctor also will remove some excess skin, producing a lower hairline and lifting the brow. The incision does not cause hair loss because it is in front of the hairline, and the scar fades well into existing lines on the forehead.

Correct Drooping Brows With A Browlift

The brow Lift, or forehead Lift, can be performed in conjunction with any other type of facial cosmetic surgery. This surgery has two different approaches. The incisions can be made behind the hairline or at the hairline. Endoscopic forehead lifts are also performed for some patients. The technique involves 3-4 separate smaller incisions behind the hairline.

It is important to note that no hair will be shaved on top of the head to make the incisions. Through whichever incision is made, the skin is carefully lifted off the muscle and bone structures of the forehead, and the muscles are softened in the scowling area of the forehead.

Once the forehead is released from the eyebrow area, it is lifted and repositioned at a higher level, which elevates the eyebrows. Excess skin is removed, and the incision is meticulously closed with sutures. Drains are used to remove excess fluid and are removed 1-2 days after the surgery. Sensory nerve loss, also temporary, occurs along the incision line and on top of the scalp. Wide scarring and hair loss are complications that occur rarely and are usually avoided by not placing any tension on the skin.

Brow Lift Treatment Helps Reduce the Sagging of Eyebrows

Deep wrinkles are caused by several factors, most notably skin damage due to sun exposure and the constant contractions of the underlying muscles of facial expression. By understanding the causes, patients can now more easily understand the rationale for treatment recommendations. The first line of treatment for the forehead is with “injectables”; either fillers such as Restylane and Collagen, or muscle paralyzers like Botox. The “fillers” act by puffing out the skin at the site of the wrinkle, while Botox paralyzes the underlying muscles preventing them from squeezing or furrowing the skin. Both groups offer only temporary solutions as they wear off within a few months. A permanent solution requires a plastic surgical procedure called a Forehead Lift or Brow Lift. This procedure usually incorporates a combination of removal of the muscles causing the wrinkles and smoothing or stretching of the affected skin. Additionally, the wrinkles may require Laser Skin Resurfacing, which is an excellent way of erasing lines as it causes the body to bring in fresh collagen.
